The Company: Clever Cookie
For more than 20 years, Clever Cookie has delighted fans with their sweet treats. They are known for their creative and delicious kosher cookie products, ranging from unique decorated designs to gingerbread houses and gift baskets. Clever Cookie also offers an impressive selection of licensed cookie products—including Rudolph, Swamp People, Candy Crush and Angry Birds, to name a few. According to the company’s president, Lisa Saffeir, “Clever Cookie caters to cookie lovers from three to 99 years old— basically anyone who enjoys a sweet treat!”
The Challenge: Rapid Growth
When Clever Cookie got its start, their sales model was direct to consumer. However, the demand for their sweet treats grew and they took the opportunity to begin wholesaling and importing their products. Several years later, the family-owned business developed proprietary robotic decorating equipment and began manufacturing the popular cookie creations at their own factory in Plainview, New York. Today, Clever Cookie remains a small business at heart, but they continue to expand and their products are sold through large-scale retail partners like Costco, Walmart and Kroger.
