Beauty in a Heartbeat: eZCom Cuts BBI Order Processing from Days to Hours
Background
Beauty by Imagination (BBI) is the parent company of multiple brands including Wetbrush, Bio Ionic, Ouidad and Goody. Rapid growth created challenges for the company’s supply chain, as it sought to integrate new brands into its workflow. When BBI acquired Goody in 2019, processing EDI transactions became a major issue.
The Challenge
Walmart was the largest channel for Goody. The huge volume and the large number of SKUs created a struggle to keep up and avoid errors. Orders had to be pushed through the system manually, which meant as many as 10 people were required to work nights and weekends in an attempt to keep up. This meant:
● Mistakes occurred, causing unhappy customers such as Walmart
● A team of 5-10 people was needed 24/7 to manually push orders through
● Orders took at least two days to be released from NetSuite to the 3PL
● Limited time to focus on growth
The Solution
eZCom fully integrated the EDI processing of Goody Brands into the NetSuite ERP of BBI, replacing the time-consuming, expensive, and error-prone manual entry process with seamless automation. eZCom broke down Master Orders into separate store orders that could be pushed into NetSuite, and then put back together at the end of the cycle to create a consolidated EDI 856 Advanced Shipment and a consolidated EDI 810 Invoice. The system also supported a custom EDI 943/944 Warehouse Stock Advice process.
