The EDI 832 Price/Sales Catalog document is sent by a supplier to an electronic catalog service. It provides product information and prices. A digital catalog replaces a paper version.
What’s in an EDI 832?
As a replacement for a paper catalog entry, the EDI 832 contains detailed product information and may include:
- Product ID numbers
- Unit prices and tax information
- Product identification—UPC, EAN, GTIN, etc.
- Detailed product descriptions
- Unit of measurement, if applicable
- Date that the catalog pricing and information was last updated
When is an EDI 832 typically issued?
The EDI 832 may be sent to an electronic catalog service if a retail buyer requests additional information, or if a supplier wants to enter or update a product listing.
